In the first two chapters, Gerthing deals in detail with seed breeding as well as the soil species and their treatment, including fertilisation. Then on fruit growing, vegetable storage and special seed breeding. According to a preliminary speech, Gerthing had made trips to England, France and Hungary in the 1950s to study the local nursery. He also laments the poor status of the nursery in the "Austrian and other hereditary" areas, which was caused, among other things, by the fact that books from other parts of Germany were previously hard to get there. Already in the early 1970 ' s, he had written down his experiences of teaching his youngest son, but only after celebrating his 50th anniversary of service in 1787 did he go to the publication. Lt.
