After his professional beginnings in Hamburg, Fölsch (1824- after 1889) worked as a technician for a long time in France and Vienna. His work focused on water supply and railway construction. He was involved in the construction of the Lyon-Avignon-Bahn, the Empress Elisabeth-Bahn and the Vorarlberger Bahn and the Northern Pacific-Bahn. The referral with the water supply of Hamburg and Vienna led him to the occupation with theater fires. This volume therefore also contains a list of 936 theatre fires. – A little spoiled.
