He built, among other things, the railway bridges over the Zihl in Yverdon and over the Rhone near Saint-Maurice. He was professor of design in Lausanne until 1901. This work deals in its two main parts with international bridges made of wrought iron as well as their assembly. The panels with over 500 representations, including many construction details.
