The Augsburg architect and engineer Lukas Voch (1728-1783) learned from his father the architectural and mathematical foundations before he continued his studies in the fields of engineering in Berlin. Later he worked as an engineer in Augsburg and "was a good practical builder" (Baader). The present work is a continuation of Voch's 1767 "Guide to hydraulic engineering". Especially important to him is chapter 6, in which he describes three wooden waterweirs near Landsberg and Augsburg, which he may have designed himself. Glonner studied with his father in Nymphenburg and with François Cuivillés d.E. There followed stays in France, Cologne, Gdansk and Munich. – Stamped coat of armsexlibris "Franç.
