Ashkenazi-Jewish prayer book "Machsor" from the Jewish year 5557, which dates back to the period around 1797, printed in the well-known printing house of the Zebi Hirsch in Offenbach. Zebi Hirsch (also known as Zvi Hirsch Segal Spitz from Pressburg) was an important Jewish printer who revived Hebrew printing in Offenbach am Main in 1767 after a long break. His Offenbach office printed numerous classical works such as Haggadot and prayer books. Available from the series of prayer books is volume VII "Le-yôm rîšôn we-šēnî šel Pesah" from a total of nine volumes published between 1797 and 1827. The volume contains the solemn prayers and liturgical poems (Pijjutim) for Pessach with an easily understandable Hebrew commentary as well as explanations in Yiddish language (in the text referred to as "Leshon Ashkenas") so that the praying people can understand the deeper meaning of the prayers directly under time pressure. – Only a little patchy and with small traces of usage, altogether very well preserved specimen. – Included: Slichoth mikal ha-shana (hebraice: "Blessings for the whole year"). 113 num.
