Landesgewerbeverein Hessen 7023 and 7192. – This Mainz exhibition with a total of 715 exhibitors is the most important forerunner of the "Allgemeine Deutsche Gewerbe-Exhibition" in Berlin in 1844, as it was one of the first to have admitted exhibitors who were not based in the host country. Exhibitors from Württemberg, Prussia, Bavaria, Saxony, Austria and Hanover, among others, are represented here in no small number (354). The exhibited products come from 92 different areas of linen spinning, galvanoplastic works, tools or bookbinder products, as well as artificial flour and "conditor works and chocolate". The focus is on textiles of all kinds. Hektor Rößler (1806-1875) has been secretary of the Gewerbverein since 1841. "The intimately friendly commercial council of Rößle and leather manufacturer Carl Deninger of Mainz were appointed directors of this exhibition. With the support of a committee of the Mainzer Lokalgewerbeverein, the people named have carried out this exhibition in a brilliant way for the conditions at that time.
