Johann Andreas Wagner (1766-1813) was a mathematics teacher in Leipzig and has published numerous books on economics topics. In the first part he deals with coin arbitrage, gives a "instruction for the production of all kinds of tables" and a "calculation of the Hamburg course according to all foreign valuts". Part 2 (p. 349-597) contains calculations of Assurance, Haverey and Bodmerey, "Treatments on mixed objects of commercial arithmetic" and a "explanation of the true method of commodity calculation". The anonymous reviewer of the Allgemeine Literaturzeitung (Jg. 1804, Vol. 3, No. 224, p. 233-236) describes this part (p. 351-437) as "indisputably the best and most complete thing ever written about this subject; it is a worthy counterpart to "fighting efforts of the kind, but with the differences that the latter uses the logarithms."
