A richly illustrated monograph on the mosques of Egypt and their architectural ornamentation. The work contains a series of impressive views of the main mosques with explanations and plans. In Volume I, the double page with the preface of the Minister of Religious Foundations and the introduction of Creswell is attached, dated 1954. "The finest piece of book production achieved in Egypt" (Creswell). – Volume I: Resolutions somewhat leimschattig. Front inner joint slightly open as well as leaf four and five loose and partly with small traces of usage and slightly brownish. Volume II: Purposes slightly glued, partly a bit flaky.
