Yoshitoshi and Keisai Iron. 2 color woodcuts. Formats ôban, tate-e. Under passepartout. Approx. 37.5 x 25.5 cm. Japan, Edo and Meiji times, around 1835 and 1890. Two woodcuts with an elegant women's representation (Bijin-ga) and a warrior representation according to a legend. Included are a leaf from Yoshitoshis (1839-1892) series Tsuki hyakushi (japonice: hundred views of the moon) and a bijin-ga by Keisai Eisen (1779-1848) from the series Tosei gonin onna (japonice: Modern versions of the five women). – Bijin-GA with slightly faded colors, small flaw at the upper left margin and two tiny spots with surface abrasion. Yoshitoshi with strong print and good colour, overall well preserved, only minimally stained.
