Landwehr, de Hooghe, 91. – The first and fifth volume of the first edition of Job Ludolff's (1624-1704) richly illustrated chronicle in the style of Ziegler and Kliphausen, which also deals with Japan, Persia and Turkey. The coppers show portraits, battles, executions, etc. and were mostly stung by the magnificent Dutch book illustrator Romeyn de Hooghe (1645-1708). – Volume I: Internal joints slightly open, first leaf with large flaws, overall browned due to paper, a little finger- and brown-spotty, occasionally moist and with further signs of wear. Title narrowly circumcised. Volume V: A little sticky and finger stained, sometimes slightly damp- brimed otherwise well preserved.
