Holub pursued the plan of a meridional crossing of the African continent from Cape Town, but in the area between Sambesi and Lake Bangweolo in the Matschukulumbe Empire he met with strong resistance and had to abandon his plan. This second trip led Holub through the Victoria Falls to the "Franz-Josef-Bergen", where an attack by Maschukulumbe warriors forced him to return. Through his collections and observations, the knowledge of the indigenous population of South Africa has been considerably expanded. – With mounted exlibris on the interior mirror.
