A randomly illustrated copy of a series of 12 pages with the 24 views of Herzberg on the Internet shows that the numbered views 1-12 also bear the title "Donau gegenden" (!), while the non-numbered views without a title and only with caption, some also with publisher's note (as in this copy). The view Wintzen bez. "G. Adam fec." (very probably the Nuremberg copper engraver Georg Adam (1784-1823), of which etched landscape views at Herzberg can be detected; cf. AKL 1, p. 296). Dieterich (1767-1853) made his journey in 1812 and first describes the general circumstances of his journey, including his historical-topographic descriptions. He had studied theology in Jena, then worked as a tutor and later as a pastor in Langenau. The dedication paper of the publisher Jakob Friedrich Ebner (1783-1837) probably for his uncle, the coworker at the Stettinian bookstore in Ulm Karl Friedrich Becker (b. 1768). – Purpose with contemporary (?) ownership note W.
