The copper title shows among other things Saints Bonifaz and Charles the Great (or Emperor Henry II) as well as allegories on fertility (Ceres and Bacchus) and six coat of arms shields (Bamberg, Würzburg, Eichstätt, Mergentheim and twice the Burggrafschaft Nürnberg). The copper with views of Bamberg, Coburg, Mergentheim, Nuremberg, Rothenburg ob der Tauber, Schweinfurt, Wertheim, Würzburg and others "Three times Merian provided a view with the wrong place name. He described the abbey of Ebrach as Gerolzhofen ... and the castle with the small town of Sonnenberg (today in Wiesbaden) he regarded as the Sonnenberg in Thuringia, northeast of Coburg. The third mistake happened to him in the bird show plan of Neustadt an der Aisch, for which he used a template representing Neustadt on the Saale. In the earlier volumes it is hardly possible to prove comparable errors, which seems to prove that Merian no longer accepted his publishing works to the same extent as before with 'Franken'. He was already suffering in 1648 and spent some time in Bad Schwalbach, where he died two years later" (Wüthrich). – Resolutions renewed.
