Description
Approximately 30cm high, with carrying handle, bronze, fire-gilded signed and numbered work, Japy Freres No. 4529, self-stroke and repetition on bell, in the base the work for the machine, which triggers at full hour and on request (by pressing the lever in the bottom plate), enamel dial, steel pointer, extremely rare. The bird and its decoration are still in their original state. The machine triggers, while the bird rotates back and forth, but no sound occurs anymore, as the bellows are damaged. Schlagwerk also triggers, gears and automatics need overhaul. The watch has not been used for decades and therefore needs a restoration in general. Lt. Antiquorum Geneva is known only as a "hand full" of these vending machines and is still functional today, e.g. auctioned in Geneva 2012 for 62,500 Swiss francs (https://www.cortrie.de/go/vN5).
