In her paintings we will find painting traditions from various periods of 20th century art. This is confirmed by the present dead nature that Sobel painted in 1947. Breaking a solid is a reference to French Cubism. Wide brush strokes in turn suggest 20th-century colorism. The fact that Sobel retains typical spatial relations of two-dimensionality of the canvas, i.e. the logic of crossed geometry, however, reverses the artist's inspirations even further, until the 19th century, up to the field of the typical art of impressionists. Polish viewer can also think about colors, how unusual for native creators! Judith Sobel's rich life reflects like a carbon in her painting. The path of her life led through Łódź, Wrocław, Paris, Tel Aviv and New York. Landscapes, interiors, dead natures were the main themes of her works. Sobel is considered to be a painter who used figurines, but it is a broken figure, moving towards abstraction. Judith Sobel showed her sensitivity to the surrounding world through her torn colors.
