Diademed head of Alexander the Great to right with horn of Ammon over his ear. Rev. ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ ΛΥΣΙΜΑΧΟΥ Athena seated to left on a kippos, resting her left elbow on her shield and holding Nike, standing left and crowning the king's name in her outstretched right hand; behind, transverse spear; in the inner left field, cult statue on throne. Interestingly enough, Fischer-Bossert's study makes it clear that Skostokos was actually a non-Greek local dynast from the environs of Ainos, who ruled as a client of Lysimachos, and was permitted to mint tetradrachms in the name of Lysimachos beginning late in the king's reign. It is now thought that Skostokos ruled from c. 285/4-273/2 BC.
