Leaves from a remarkably luxuriant late medieval hour book on particularly large, wide parchment with text passages from the 2nd century AD. Book of Kings, Chapter 20: "Omnipotens sempitérne Deus, qui Ezéchiae regi Iudae te cum lácrimis deprecánti vitae spátium protendísti...", decorated with dazzling gold leaf initials. The parchment is partly very delicate, finely red. The text takes in less than one fifth of the sheet, which shows how wealthy the client must have been. – Some slightly stained or dusted, two leaves slightly more browned, some insignificant abrasion, the initials in bright gold leaf.
