See Graesse II, 63. – Second printing of the complete edition of the writings of the late Antiquity statesman Cassiodor (ca. 484-580), first published by Chouet in 1622, whose primary aim was the reconciliation of the Romans with the Goths. With the foundation of the monastery Vivarium and the writings of ancient authors copied by the monks there, he became the savior of numerous important works for the history of Western literature.
