Fürstenberg says about the quality of the equipment and illustrations: "His (Oudry's) famous drawings on the 'Fables' of La Fontaine were made before 1735, but they only began to appear in his year of death. However, they were designed in such a purely painterly way that they had to be revised by the youngest cochin for the purposes of copper engraving. From the point of view of the book illustration, this revision was a success". – The stung frontispiece is missing. All in all slightly patchy, occasionally with rims and kinky, with smaller traces of usage, otherwise good specimen. The copper plates in prominently strong pressure and only occasionally minimally stained.
