Miniature books. - Mignon-Almanach on the year 1813 (and) 1817. Two miniature alamanaches. 14 units each in copper engraving. 1.8 x 2.6 cm. Red leather with rich gold embossing (back slightly brittle) in hunting green cardboard slipper (with only tiny flaws, slightly encased) and gold-embroidered leather applicator as well as gold-embosed rose-coloured cardboard band (this with small back defect) in rose-colored richly blind-eborated cardboard slip (completely intact). Vienna, Joesph Riedl, (1812-1816). The extremely rare first and fourth vintage of Joseph Riedl's "Mignon Almanach", here in two particularly beautiful specimens. "A Mignon-Almanach with 13 or 14 calligraphically engraved leaves was published over a prolonged period by Joseph Riedl in Vienna. The earliest issue we find recorded is that of 1813, measuring an oblong 3/4 inches [...]" (Bondy 53). – Very clean and well preserved.
