C. with inlay-style lid with paper supports and rich gold embossing (sometimes rubbed, little rubbed off, a little flecky) with three-sided gold cut in the analog Maroquin slipper (somewhat stronger rubbing of the elements and gilding). London, Stationers' Company, (1782). Strikingly beautifully designed London Almanach of the Stationers' Company, the guild of printers, bookbinders and publishers. The series was mostly bound in luxurious Maroquin leather (often red, green or cream), splendidly decorated with applied other-coloured (here in contrast: dark blue to wine red) or perchment-coloured paper ornamentation in the inlay style and richly gilded. The full- or double-sided copper engravings show "The Ordnance Office, Old Palace Yard", followed by "Common Notes", then the Kalendarium and "A Table of Kings & Queens Reigns", and the "Lord Mayors from the year 1762" ... "and Sheriffs to the year1783". Also included is a "List of Holidays" and "Of the Current coins". – Fresh inside and well preserved overall, extremely rare.
