VD17 23:256559G. Graesse V, 162. – Early printing of the Roman history of the early Christian historian Velleius Paterculus, the Editio princeps appeared in 1520 at Froben in Basel. First printing of the text with chapter division and with the political and moral notes of Jan Gruter (1560-1627). Velleius's only surviving work, a historical outline of the events of world history from the Roman point of view, deals with the period from the end of the Trojan War to the year 29 and constitutes an important source of Roman historiography.
