A Hohner Gruhn Design six-string acoustic-electric guitar, circa 1991, from the series designed in collaboration with renowned American guitar authority and dealer George Gruhn. Of small-jumbo form with cutaway body, natural spruce soundboard, highly figured flamed maple back and sides with decorative centre back strip and contrasting binding, mahogany neck and dark fingerboard with decorative position markers. The rosewood-faced headstock bearing the Hohner and “Gruhn Design” logos and fitted with six enclosed chrome tuning machines. Fitted with an onboard pickup system with side-mounted volume and tone controls and jack output. The Gruhn Design instruments were produced by Hohner in Korea during the early 1990s and combined Gruhn's design input with comparatively high specifications for their price point. Contemporary specifications for the series included spruce tops, scalloped bracing and Gotoh die-cast machine heads. Internal number 063161. Together with a fitted hard case. Condition: In generally good used condition with surface scratches, small knocks, scuffs and playing wear consistent with age and use. Some marks to the soundboard and general finish wear. Hardware with minor tarnishing and surface wear. Electronics have not been tested. Guitar has not been professionally assessed for action, neck relief, fret wear or playability.
