Shortly after, between 1779 and 1786, "a more solid order appears to have been decided upon, and the plates were given etched numbers for the first time" (BAL RIBA, p.1509). The plates were originally issued individually, and copies issued with these title-pages have varying numbers of plates. Provenance: Frances Mary Richardson Currer (1785-1861), bookplate. Currer was a noted bibliophile, described by T.F. Dibdin as being "at the head of all female collectors in Europe".
