The miniatures show central scenes from Buddha's life: from his youth as Prince Siddhartha, who leaves his royal life, to the depictions of Buddha in the lotus seat, one protected by the Muchalinda Naga snake. The large-format illustration segments cover three full-page pages and are detailed, with numerous heavenly beings, court members, animals and symbolic motifs. The pictorial representations are complemented by carefully written text in black fiber pin. – Continuously strongly worm-spured and worm-like as well as flaky. The colours of the miniatures are, however, beautifully preserved.
