With 14-line initial "F" in alto pink on blue and gold leaf base squared and hundreds of 3-11-line Lombards in red and blue. Simple dark-brewed calfskin band d. C. ISTC ib00587,000. – Second Speyer Bible Print by Peter Drach, largely collation- and content-like with the edition of 1486 (Hain 3093). – The first sheet a1 with the title "Biblia ..." is missing. Few small lusures, such as isolated (an old deposited) cracks or weak damp edges, edges here and there slightly brittle, minimally tanned or flecky, two small cracks (only one of them with a small text loss in the register, stored old) and deposited holes in the last sheet (also hardly any text loss, all so old reinforcements). Very isolated Lombards easily washed out, the gold-ground initials at the beginning somewhat scraped off, insignificant wormholes to be neglected. Multiple pretty Notabene hands on the edge with contemporary ink (e.g. b1 and kk1 et passim). Upper margin partially cut a little bit kapp (few column title serifs affected), right and lower bridge, however remarkably broad-edge, only in the NT some concordance marginals in the outer bridge also slightly overcut. In the general catalogue (GW online) it is noted: "Overall transmission: 105 copies / fragments in public institutions and at least 1 copy in private ownership proved." With the present one would then be proven a second in private possession. In fact, not a single copy of the Drach print in the yearbook of auction prices has been detectable for decades. Provenance: Sheet a2 with several, partly crossed-out old property entries, among them "Ex libris Joannis Klimes Canonici Wissehradensis [...]", of which the Vysehrad canonist from Prague, a "Joannis Jacobi zub [= sub] sacerdotis Ecclesiastici", further "Ex Libris likes. Zdenconi Comes de Walstaijn scilicit Consilianus et Cubiculanus", probably a legal adviser and chamberlain, a Count Zdenko of Walstain (Zdenek of Waldstein or Zdenek z Valstejna) from Cesky Ráj near Turnov. The flying intent with possession note "Ex Libris Procopii Stiasny Justitiarii Frauenberg[iu]s 1790" and recto further entry of the same hand "Biblia Sacra Veteris et Novi Testamenti. Sine Titulo.
