NDB 3, 667. – First printing of the famous Dietenberger Bible, which was competing as a Catholic "counterbible" of Luther's transmission and until late 18. In the 19th century, the most popular translation of the Bible was in all German - speaking Catholic regions. She experienced about 100 editions. In this case, however, only the New Testament with the dramatic woodcut sequence (21) to the Apocalypse of John. – Title old stamped, with small hole in the white edge of the side and with possession entry in Sepia in the upper margin, leaf ll1 verso and ll2 recto more stained, some leaves connected, in places a little tanned or brownish. At the end with faded moisture margin in the lower bow, the final sheet also a little worm-stitchy and with small deposited flaw (low word loss).
