VD16 C 2565. – Rostock print of the writing of the important late reformer David Chyträus (1530-1600), who worked for many years as rector of the University of Rostock. – Weakly tanned, with some underscores and annotations. Interior mirror with mounted exlibris and old entries. Well-preserved specimen in a cover probably made by the Hallens Renaissance bookbinder Georg Rumler. The front centre plate shows a portrait of Elector August of Saxony, the back cover with a representation of the Saxon coat of arms (see Haebler, Festschrift Tafel IX, 6 and the contribution by Fritz Juntke on Georg Rumler, page 201ff.).
