Schweiger 104. – First edition of the works Cicero, edited by the Paris scholar Dionysius Lambinus (1520-1572), was highly appreciated at the time and excellently printed in a generous folio format. "New excellent recension. Lambin broke a new path in the Cicero Critics. His great merit for Cicero has long been misunderstood. It was wrong to doubt that Lambin really had manuscripts" (silence). The present parts III and IV of the four-volume edition contain the letters and his philosophical writings. – Weak brown stained, otherwise well preserved. The contemporary cover with the Eignerinitial "IRC" and the binding year "1570" as well as later applied gold stamp with the owner letter "F" with ear wreath.
