Palau 43773. – Second Giunta edition of the famous "Historiarum libri XVI" by the Italian Jesuit Giovanni Pietro Maffei (1536-1603), which are considered a milestone in early modern world history. It deals mainly with the Portuguese voyages of discovery, conquests and Christian missionary work in the East (Asia and Africa) and in today's Brazil during the 16th century. ==References== Jeanne Giunta, here latinized to Junctae, had taken over the Lyon office, which was continued from 1589 by the son Jean-Baptiste Regnauld ("ex officina Junctarum"). – 9 leaves are missing (R-S4 T1; pp. 129-146).
