The probably contemporary coloured text woodcuts show flowers, herbs, vegetable and fruit plants as well as various fruits. Among other things, it is reported that "Indian nuts or sea nuts" are "canned in Apothecalypse wool" ... These fruits are very large, hanging on the tree, like large mellows, stored in large barks, which are externally black-red, hard and tough ..." (Blatt 97). In this edition, the universal scholar Joachim Camerarius (1500-1574) contributed. "Camerariius used the figures he bought from Conrad Gessner; the others were recut to the small figures of the Valgrisi edition" (Nissen). – Title drawn up on paper, somewhat rubbed and finger stained, all tanned due to paper, partly slightly brown, water and finger stained, reinforced with a few cracks, luscious edges and some leaves with Japanese paper on the bridges.
