Parchment band with gold-embossed back title on red background and rich linear and ornamental lid gilding, partly on colour background, partly with far surface filling in red, green, yellow and blue. Trilateral punctured gold cut with 4-line text embossing. Appliances in light blue and red-printed Kattunpapier. In two-part paper slip with 2 different covers. East Germany around 1800. Remarkably pretty peasant cover with a Gotha songbook from 1800. The lid ornamentation is determined by the typical red, which shows a heart in the centre of the lid, in which a gold-embossed clipeus with the Lamb of God as Christ Triumph with flag. The tangles are filled with leaf and flowerwork as well as six tulip representations, all in a green, gold flanked band, which is broadly framed by a red-backed border with floral gold fillet. Rose gold stamp on the back. Interesting is the long-cut with a cartouche, which contains the embossed saying of a peasant wisdom: "Work and bethe always too equal so you become blessed pious and rich". – Only slightly rubbed and rubbed, without the former locking fittings (each three small mounting holes present), the gold embostation somewhat darkened and slightly rubbing off, the colority very powerful and beautiful. – Synopsis: The Bible, that is the whole Holy Scripture of the Old and New Testament.
