The Netherlands circa 1824. Magnificent silver binding with two mighty silver clasps, each containing three allegories surrounded by rocailles, including Fides, Caritas, Spes, Vanitas and Justitia. On the closing monogram "A. B." and with a weight indication "Weighs 10 3/8 Lood" (corresponds to about 100g). – Joints brittle, back with flaws, loaded, velvet partly more rubbed and damaged.
