The French painter, draughtsman and engraver Jean Bérain (1640-1711) worked as a royal chamber and cabinet artist of Louis XIV. He also produced designs for furniture and goldsmith's work, but also theatre sets were among his orders. – Purpose with exlibris, attachment sheet almost loose, slightly tanned due to paper, stick and finger stained, occasionally somewhat kink-spured. Rarely in the trade.
