UCBA 385. – The work is based on the "Élémens du dessin ou Proportions des plus belles figures de l'antique" with the engravings by F. A. David (1741-1824) and a text according to J. J. Winckelmann. The editor Grohmann (1763-1805) contributed only a short preface and used the text of the Viennese Winckelmann edition (History of the Art of Alterthum, vol. 2; Vienna academic publishing house 1776) as a template. The one with "J. G. G. sc.', after David, came from him, another 5 are from J. C. Leonhardt stabbed. Grohmann treats gods and goddesses of ancient legend in the first part; Part 2 deals with Laokoon, Farnesian Hercules, Apoll of Belvedere, Meleager, Venus of Medici and the dying fencing. The copper on slightly bluish paper. – Uncircumcised. In the second part, the publisher's specification of Mollo is glued over by "Eduard Ludewig". With edge-laces, stick- and damp-spotted as well as the boards partly finger-spotty at the edge. Some boards loose. Both parts together very rarely.
