Passepartout under glass in black wooden strip. Germany around 1880. Two portrait studies of a younger and an older woman. The younger one with high hair, the older one with white hood. The physiognomic similarity suggests the representation of mother and daughter. Georg Koch (1819-1899) was a drawing artist and lithographer active in Kassel. He specialized in portrait and reproduction lithography as well as the graphic reproduction of paintings. Studies in Florence, including copies to Raffael, made him nationally known. Later he taught as a professor at the Kasseler Kunstakademie. – Due to paper slightly browned and very slightly spotted. Shipping only without frame.
