The booklets one to three by J. A. Romberg (1806-1868), issue four by Hamburger Domherr F. J. L. Meyer (1760-1844). Romberg, who was an architect at the time in Hamburg, emerged here as an architectural critic. It is particularly important for issue two, which is dedicated to the tender for the new building of the stock exchange: "A look at the construction industry in Hamburg has led me to the production of the Ueb, that, as long as the same does not undergo any significant reform, Hamburg must renounce any building that meets the requirements of art" (p. 3). In issue three he dedicates himself to the new buildings of the Gymnasium and the library on Domplatz. A strong criticism of this building, built in the circular arch style, can be found in Meyer: "Hamburg has flourished for so long without following the art that it would even be a bad sign if this desire for innovation caught foot with us. If the youth had been presented with a building that stimulated them by the external form, and in them even awakened the sense of forms, it would only be an artifact to guide them to sensuality ... Heavy must be the forms of a Hamburg school building, this is the expression of our whole inner life." (p. 6) (see: Hannmann: C. L. Wimmel S. 90f., who only F. J. L.
