The first edition was published in 8 deliveries between 1833 and 1836. - Carl Georg Nipperdey (d. 1848) has worked as a painter and lithograph in Potsdam. He "refers to his examples... from the richly carved choir and lay chairs as well as from the high altar of the sacred building. Without regard to their real connection, only the high- and late-gothic 'roses', i.e. (blank) scale roses, three- and four-passes are presented individually or to several on each table as a diverse form compendium. Although Nipperdey strives for the plastic effect of his relatively schematically reproduced models, the material character and the size ratios of the originals are completely neglected." (Grund: Vorlagenwerke 23). In this respect, the work can be regarded as a template work in its purest form. The source of the volume, the Schwerin farm master Severin (1763-1836), has become known above all for his buildings in Bad Doberan and Heiligendamm. "He is considered the most important architect of classicism in Mecklenburg" (DBE 9, p. 416). – Envelope somewhat flaky and with marginal damage (1 corner incomplete). Inside only isolated small patchy, last sheet also incomplete at one corner.
