The Bamberg Apocalypse is the only fully preserved ottonic picture cycle on the last book of the Bible, one of the most important miniature manuscripts of the Middle Ages. The codex was created between 1000 and 1020 in the Bodenseekloster Reichenau. - The velvet cover of the manuscript Msc served as a template for the cover material.
