The Heidelberg manuscript can be located on the northeastern Harz region on the basis of the text form, the font and the coat of arms and dated between 1295 and 1304. Thus, it is very likely the earliest preserved Sachsenspiegel manuscript. Of the manuscript originally comprising around 92 leaves, only about one third is preserved today. – As good as new.
