"The Crusader Bible is probably the most outstanding work of the famous book collection of King Louis IX (1214-1270) of France. This illustrated book illustrates the events of the Old Testament in 283 outstanding miniatures. The codex is world-famous and had some significant previous owners who added explanatory comments in different languages (such as Persian) to the pictures. Thus, the Bible is also known as the Shah Abbas Bible, according to the Shah of Persia, who wrote the work at the beginning of the 17th century. Macieyovsky was given the Bible by Cardinal Maciejovsky, Bishop of Cracow (VA) in the late 19th century. The main part of the picture manuscript is owned by the Pierpont Morgan Library in New York. Two leaves are kept in the Bibliothèque Nationale de France in Paris, and another is in Los Angeles at the Jean Paul Getty Museum. – Almost perfectly preserved.
