One of the 780 Arabic numbered copies (total edition: 810) of one of the great facsimile projects ever organized: the nine Imperial Catholics of the Wenceslas Bible. The monumental magnificent manuscript was written between 1390 and 1400 in Prague on behalf of the Bohemian king Wenceslas IV (1361-1419), and illuminated in the most precious way in the style of international Gothic, the "soft style". The Bible text is one of the oldest translations of the Old Testament into German. Today the Bible is preserved in the Austrian National Library in Vienna as "Codices Vindobonenses". Volume IX is the "documentary volume" containing the unilluminated books of the Codex.
