Description
A vintage Höfner Verithin style semi acoustic electric guitar, believed to date from the 1960s, featuring a natural brown finish, thin hollow body construction and distinctive double cutaway design.
Fitted with two Höfner branded pickups, twin soundholes, four cream control knobs, an adjustable bridge and a Bigsby vibrato tailpiece.
The headstock features the Höfner name and decorative floral inlay, complemented by an attractive figured maple back displaying pronounced grain and flame figuring.
The Verithin was one of Höfner's distinctive electric guitar designs of the 1960s, developed during a period of enormous growth in popular music and demand for electric instruments.
With its elegant styling and slim hollow body, the model became associated with the flourishing British beat and rock scene, and vintage examples remain appealing to musicians and collectors of European electric guitars.
A characterful vintage instrument with an especially attractive figured back.
Condition: General age related wear, including surface scratches, marks, rubbing and finish wear.
The machine heads appear to be later replacements, with evidence of previous fittings.
The Bigsby tailpiece is missing its operating arm.
