Featuring a particularly decorative carved wooden resonator with elaborate scrolling foliate decoration, a shaped headstock with four period style tuning pegs, and a wooden neck with contrasting centre strips.
The dark fingerboard features ornamental inlays, with a Washburn 'W' emblem at the heel. Fitted with a natural skin head, metal tension brackets, wooden bridge and Kerschner Unique tailpiece stamped 'Lyon & Healy Makers, Chicago U.S.A.'
An appealing example of early American banjo craftsmanship, with the intricately carved resonator providing particular visual interest.
Together with a vintage fitted hard case.
Condition: In fair vintage condition, with general surface marks, scratches and finish wear throughout.
