The work opens with the conspiracy of Baamonte Tiepolo and Marco Querini of 15 June 1310, the attempt to overthrow the Venetian government that determined the birth of the Council of Ten, destined to become the main body of state security. The reports and acts related to other crucial moments in the history of the Serenissima follow, including the conspiracy of the Doge Marin Falier (1355), the story of Giacomo Foscari (1444) and the subsequent deposition of the doge Francesco Fos cari (1457), the famous case of Antonio Foskarini (1622) and that of Renier Zeno (1628), together with other trials, notices and judgments. For the chronological extent and the selection of the episodes, the manuscript is a significant testimony of the antique and historiographical interest in the institutional and judicial history of the Serenissima.
