Collection of three rare official booklets published during the Restoration, testimony of the intense diplomatic activity of the Order of St John of Jerusalem after the loss of Malta (1798). The works were presented on the occasion of three decisive moments of European politics: the return of the Bourbons to France (1815), the Congress of Aachen (1818), which sanctioned the end of the allied occupation of France, and the Congress in Verona (1822), the last of the great congresses of the Holy Alliance. In all three cases, the Order claims recognition of its sovereignty, historical privileges and rights on the island of Malta.
