[EBRAICA - MANOSCRIPT]. Hebrew liturgical dictionary. [Italy or Lower Germany, late 16th century]. Interesting manuscript dictionary in Hebrew, organized alphabetically according to the 22 letters of the alphabet and dedicated to biblical and Talmudic concepts, liturgical terms, sacred objects, prayers and ritual practices, with particular attention to Jewish festivities. Voices include Ein Sof, Qabbalah, Qedushah, Shofar sounds, Tashlich and Sukkot elements (Lulav, Etrog, Hadassim, Aravot). Of particular interest, BC. 116v, the signatures of three auditors active in the ecclesiastical censorship of the Hebrew books, including Domenico Irosolimitano and Giovanni Domenio Vistorini. The first, among the most active censors between the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries, participated in 1595 in the revision of the Hebrew books of Mantua and in the editorial staff of the Sefer ha-Zi-u-u, repertoire of the passages to be expurged; a note of his recorded a total of 29,011 revised works, including 4,311 manuscripts. Vistorini is documented as auditor at least in 1609. The presence of several subscriptions testifies to the successive campaigns of control to which the manuscript was submitted and constitutes an important material testimony of the censorship and circulation of Hebrew texts in Italy between the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries. 4th (200 × 150 mm). 119 cards [116 + 3], mutilate probably of the frontispiece. Manuscript on thick paper, in italic Hebrew in black ink, 28 lines per page, with references. Note manuscript to c. 108v; cc. 110-111 reinforced (barrel holes and large water throats, especially marginal, with frequent fading of the ink and some points difficult to decipher, without compromising the overall legibility).
