Lot of three works by the famous Bolognese doctor including the first edition of the "treasure of human life" Interesting collection of three copies by study of the doctor, surgeon and alchemist Leonardo Fioravanti Bologna, among the most famous and controversial protagonists of Renaissance medicine. Itinerant doctor, tireless experimenter and author of great editorial success, Fioravanti contributed to the diffusion of a medicine based on direct observation and practical experience, often opposing the Galenic academic tradition. The lot includes the first edition of the Treasure of Human Life (1570), one of his most fortunate works, dedicated to the preservation of health and the care of the main infirmities; the Compendium of Secret Ratios (1581), in which he collects medical remedies, pharmaceutical and experimental techniques elaborated during his professional activity; and the Mirror of Scientia universal (1678), a vast encyclopedic work in which the author addresses themes of medicine, natural philosophy, alchemy and technique.
