The work, the result of an ambitious editorial project developed over five years, describes hundreds of plant species illustrating their botanical classification, active principles, uses in medical practice and medicinal applications, constituting one of the most complete Italian repertoire of pharmaceutical botany of the 19th century. 6 volumes, 8vo (230 × 148 mm) Each volume is accompanied by 100 hand coloured lithographic tables, for a total of 598 tables (of 600, there is no table 156 and 165, the table 500 is tied after table 560) pages of text in beards (flowering).
