RATE, Torquato (1544-1595). The Rinaldo. Paper manuscript from the late 18th century. Curious manuscript of the late 18th century containing the twelve songs of Rinaldo, the first heroic poem of Torquato Tasso, composed at a very young age and published in 1562. Dedicated to Cardinal Luigi d'Este, the work represents the first significant poetic recital of the future author of the liberated Jerusalem in which the themes and models of chivalry destined to find full development in mature production are already recognizable.
